Three Generations of the Same Family Kitchen

Phoenix has a thousand restaurants. It has very few that one family has kept alive, through everything, for 44 years. This is ours.

Autumn Court Chinese Restaurant has served old school Chinese-American cooking in Phoenix, Arizona since 1982, making it one of the longest-running Chinese restaurants in the metro area. The same family that opened the original Central Avenue location has owned and operated the restaurant through every chapter of its history, including a kitchen fire in 2005 that forced a full rebuild and relocation to the current address at 3752 E Indian School Rd. Rather than franchise or sell, the family rebuilt from scratch and continued serving the same recipes. Phoenix New Times recognized Autumn Court as “Best Old School Chinese”, a distinction earned through decades of consistent quality rather than a single standout year. Today the restaurant delivers across central Phoenix, hands takeout over the counter, and handles catering for groups from 25 to 500 people across the greater Phoenix area. What sets Autumn Court apart is not novelty — it is 44 years of the same family, the same recipes, and the same kitchen standards that regulars have returned to for generations.

The Family

A Family That Didn't Quit

“In 2005, we had a fire. We rebuilt. We came back. That's what this restaurant is: a family that didn't quit.”

Three generations have run this kitchen — through a different Phoenix, a fire, a rebuild, and forty-four years of dinner rushes. The recipes haven't changed hands outside the family once.

How We Got Here

Forty-Four Years, One Family

1982

The doors open on Central Avenue

Phoenix was a smaller, slower city. The family set out to serve the Chinese-American classics the city craved — cooked properly, without shortcuts.

2005

The fire — and the rebuild

A kitchen fire forced a full rebuild and the move to 3752 E Indian School Rd. Rather than franchise or sell, the family rebuilt from scratch and kept serving the same recipes.

Today

Three generations, 365 days a year

Recognized by Phoenix New Times as “Best Old School Chinese.” Open every single day, 9am to midnight — cooking for the grandchildren of the first regulars, and catering Phoenix gatherings from 25 to 500 guests.

What We Believe

Real Ingredients. No Shortcuts.

Handmade potstickers, wok-fired entrées, and family-style catering — the proudest thing on the menu is that it hasn't needed reinventing. What we're most proud of is simpler than any award: we're still here, still family-owned, still cooking the same food.

Come taste why three generations of Phoenix families keep coming back.
